Plant Based Food Finland, Pro Vege in Finnish, is an industry association dedicated to advancing plant based food. Our mission is to increase the demand and availability of plant based food, supporting market growth both domestically in Finland and for export. This growth brings new business and employment opportunities while also benefiting public health, the climate, and the environment.

Plant Based Food: Relevant to Many, Important to All
Plant Based Food Finland has a uniquely broad and influential membership, including a diverse range of food manufacturers, Finland’s largest retail chains, and key players in the restaurant industry, research sector, and biotechnology. This wide-ranging support highlights the significance of plant based food within Finland’s food industry.
In addition to strategic advocacy, our broad membership base allows for a dynamic and diverse market development approach. We encourage dialogue and collaboration among members, creating opportunities for partnerships and innovation.
As an association, we also prioritize cooperation. We actively work with both Finnish and international stakeholders, including other associations, researchers, organizations, and NGOs, recognizing that ambitious goals are best achieved together.

Healthy Food Within Planetary Boundaries Opens Opportunities
The global food system is undergoing a necessary transformation to address climate, environmental, and health challenges. A shift in food production and consumption is inevitable – and essential. Plant Based Food Finland’s core mission is to promote conditions that support the production and consumption of plant based proteins and dairy alternatives within Finland.
With this transition comes new opportunities, and Finland is well-positioned to seize them. At Plant Based Food Finland, we work to ensure that businesses investing in plant based food thrive in an evolving food system and realize their full potential.
